Pulse Oximeter: why and how to use it correctly

Dermatologist Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj discusses how to correctly use a pulse oximeter, that is being dubbed a 'life-saving device.' Dr. Bhardwaj says that the oximeter can save your life if it works well but if gives an incorrect reading or you read it incorrectly, it can prove to be rather dangerous. 

Many people end up the index finger from their left hand, which Dr. Deepali says is completely wrong. You must use your right hand if you're right-handed and your left hand if you are left hand dominated. In terms of which finger to use, she suggests using either the middle finger or your thumb.
