Popular battle royale game PUBG Mobile is among 118 additional Chinese apps banned by the government in India after fresh tensions in Ladakh. The IT Ministry said that the apps have been banned under Section 69A of the IT Act for “engaging in activities which is [sic] prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order". The ministry said that it acted upon several complaints and reports about some apps “stealing and surreptitiously transmitting users' data in an unauthorised manner to servers which have locations outside India.”
