BJP workers and farmers protesting against the agricultural laws clashed in Ghazipur on the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border on Wednesday.  A scuffle broke when the BJP workers were carrying out a procession on a flyway where the farm law protesters have been camping since November 2020, according to eye-witnesses.

Videos and photographs that have surface online show both sides using sticks, some people have been injured according to reports. The visuals also show some people carrying black flags and some people carrying BJP flags.

While BJP claims that the farmers showed black flags to the convoy of BJP politician Amit Valmiki for whose welcome the procession was being held and damaged some cars, the farmers allege that it was another “conspiracy by the government” to quell the protest and BJP workers damaged thier own cars.

Last week, the agitation against farm laws completed 7 months and farmers marked the day by taking out marches in several states to submit a memorandum to the Governors. As the stalemate between farmers and the Centre continues continues despite several rounds of talks, farmer leaders have said that they are ready to intensify their agitation
