A viral video on social media showed saffron shrouds and bamboo sticks being removed from corpses buried along the banks of Ganga in the Sangam area of UP’s Prayagraj. A committee has now been formed by the district administration to investigate who shot the video and what was the motive behind the incident. DM Bhanu Chandra Goswami and SP Sarvsesh Tripathi have ordered strict action against the culprits

It was earlier reported the the Prayagraj municipal corporation deployed a team to remove bamboo sticks and shrouds from buried bodies after rains exposed the corpses. the Municipal Commissioner has however denied such reports and clarified that no such order was given by the administration.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra had shared the viral clip and attacked the government over the incident.
