Premier League footballer arrested on suspicion of child sex offences

A senior Premier League footballer who cannot be named for legal reasons was arrested by Greater Manchester Police on Monday night over alleged Child sex offences. According to various local reports, the footballer is also suspended by his club Everton and is believed to be 31-years-old. The footballer was released on bail shortly after getting arrested but an enquiry has been launched.

Everton has confirmed that they will help the authorities during the investigation and the footballer won't feature in any football-related activities till the enquiry is concluded. The footballer is a senior player in his national side and has earned a fortune in wages and has attracted multi-million-pound transfers in his long career.
