Pregnant women vaccinated against Covid-19 may pass the protection to their babies, a study conducted in Israel claims.
In the study, researchers found antibodies in the newborns of all 20 women, given both doses of the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine during their third trimester.
The study by Jerusalem's Hadassah-University Medical Center was posted on medRxiv.
The researchers have however cautioned that more research is needed to understand the efficacy of vaccines at different stages of pregnancy. They now aim to see the duration of the antibodies in the babies.
