A magistrate court in Mumbai has rejected businessman Raj Kundra and his aide Ryan Thorpe's bail plea in the porn racket case. On Tuesday, the court had remanded Kundra to 14 days in judicial custody, for alleged production and distribution of pornographic films through apps.
The prosecution objected to bail for Kundra stating that the businessman is "a key conspirator" in the porn scandal and is "highly influential". Lawyers informed the court that if he is granted bail, he could threaten the witnesses or lure them with money.
Kundra was arrested on the night of July 19 by the Mumbai police crime branch after being booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act. He is accused of creating and circulating of porn films. The crime branch also recovered porn film script from his hidden closet during the raid at his residence.

Shilpa Shetty’s statement has also recorded by the Mumbai police at her residence in Juhu, but she has not been given a clean chit yet.
On the other hand, the Bombay High Court granted anticipatory bails to model-actors Poonam Pandey and Sherlyn Chopra, stating that no coercive action would be taken against the duo till September 20. Sherlyn Chopra was summoned to appear before the property cell on Tuesday in connection with the porn racket case involving Kundra.
