PM Modi tells CMs: focus on micro-containment zones to curb Covid spread

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday attended a virtual meeting with all chief ministers to discuss the rising number of coronavirus cases in several states.

PM Modi said Covid is spreading exponentially and insisted on ‘corrective steps’ to be taken to contain the spread of infection. Stating ‘seventy districts are showing increasing trend’, the PM warned ‘if this is not controlled, the country can witness the second wave’.

PM Modi has proposed micro-zoning of an area instead of imposing a general lockdown. Addressing the chief ministers, PM Modi  said ‘strict containment, surveillance, testing, tracing and awareness is required
