Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted US Vice President Kamala Harris a copy of old notifications related to her grandfather, who was a senior Indian government officer, in a wooden handicraft frame and a ‘meenakari’ chess set as they met in-person for the very first time. The craft of Gulabi Meenakari on the chess set is closely associated with Varanasi, PM Modi's constituency.

But it was not just Harris that received gifts from PM Modi, reports indicate that even Australian counterpart and fellow Quad member, Scott Morrison was gifted a Silver Gulabi Meenakari Ship. Impressing on the deep ties of Buddhism between India and Japan the Prime Minister also presented a Sandalwood Buddha statue to the PM of Japan, Yoshihide Suga.
