Trouble continues to mount for the BCCI as a Public Interest Litigation has been filed against the Indian board by an advocate in the Bombay High Court for staging the IPL during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The plea, filed by advocate Vandana Shah, states that BCCI should be ordered to tender an unconditional apology to Indians for their tone-deaf and arrogant behaviour. The plea also states that BCCI should be asked to supply oxygen and medical supplies worth over Rs 1000 crores, and whatever profit they have made in this corona-ravaged time by holding the IPL.
After suspending the IPL, a statement from the Indian board read that they tried to bring some positively by staging the cash-rich league.
