A suspected dengue outbreak in UP's Firozabad has left over 40 children dead in less than 2 weeks.
BJP MLA from Firozabad Manish Asija on Tuesday claimed that the death toll due to suspected dengue in the district has risen to 44.
The UP government has rushed in a team of 15 doctors from Lucknow that held a meeting with officials of the district administration and the health department. It also conducted tests in the affected areas of the district.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited some dengue patients in the district on Monday. He said that the deaths will be probed by a team from King George's Medical University in Lucknow and a surveillance team so that the reasons can be ascertained.
The chief minister had also told reporters that the first case was detected on August 18.
Meanwhile, the District Magistrate has ordered closure of all schools for classes 1 to 8 till September 6 due to the suspected outbreak.
