Amid the new Covid variant scare, a man who returned from South Africa to Thane in Maharashtra recently has tested positive for coronavirus.
The man had travelled from Cape Town to Dombivali on November 24. He underwent a Covid-19 test which returned positive, municipal officials said.
The man didn't come in contact with anyone after returning from South Africa, and is currently admitted to an isolation centre, the officials added.

International passengers must submit 14 days' travel history and upload negative Covid test results. Travellers from countries deemed "at-risk" will also undergo a mandatory 7-day home quarantine if they test negative for the virus, the Union Health Ministry said
