Olympic Medallist Karnam Malleswari named first VC of Delhi Sports University

Delhi Government on Wednesday appointed former Olympic medallist weightlifter Karnam Malleswari as the first vice-chancellor of the Delhi Sports University. 

Malleswari who is the first Indian woman to bring an Olympic medal home was appointed VC by the LT Governor Anil Baijal, the chancellor of the newly formed University. 

The 46-year-old Padmashri Awardee won a historic bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
