Assamese Actor Nishita Goswami has said that the recent move of several actors joining political parties has created an “unwanted divide” within the actors’ fraternity. Several actors who were seen taking part in anti-CAA protests and voicing their concerns about CAA, had recently joined the ruling BJP in Assam ahead of the Assam Assembly elections. She said that she would not be joining any political party. Nishita said that the decision of actors joining a political party is entirely their personal. Nishita was in Tezpur to inaugurate a silk store.
