Neeraj Chopra, other Olympians return to a rousing welcome after historic show in Tokyo

India’s Olympic heroes, including history-making javelin throw gold-medallist Neeraj Chopra were greeted with a rousing reception in New Delhi as they returned home from Tokyo on Monday evening. Fans and bands welcomed the Olymopians at Delhi airport.

Enthusiastic officials and a frenzied crowd gathered outside the airport to welcome the heroes of the country's best ever Games campaign

Neeraj Chopra was one of the first athletes to come out and was immediately mobbed fans. Everyone wanted to catch a glimpse of the boy with the golden arm.

Thousands of fans waited outside the airport to welcome wrestlers Ravi Kumar Dahiya and Bajrang Punia, boxer Lovlina Borgohain and the men's hockey team, who arrived from Tokyo after a historic show 

Bajrang Punia was carried on the shoulders of his people. He waived at the supporters cheering him as he got into the car.

India had headed to the Tokyo Games with its biggest-ever medal contingent and finished with their biggest-ever medal tally of 7.
