National Award winning actor Surekha Sikri dies of cardiac arrest at 75

National Award-winning actor Surekha Sikri has died in Mumbai due to a cardiac arrest. She was 75 years old.

The veteran actor was ailing for some time and had suffered a brain stroke in 2020 and a paralytic stroke earlier in 2018.

Surekha Sikri made her debut in the film industry with the 1978 political drama film 'Kissa Kursi Ka' and was best known for her more recent roles in the TV show 'Balika Vadhu' & the 2018 film 'Badhaai Ho'.

She received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress three times, for her roles in films such as 'Tamas', 'Mammo' and 'Badhaai Ho'.

Sikri was last seen in Netflix’s “Ghost Stories", directed by Zoya Akhtar.
