Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday that the Mumbai rape case will be tried in a fast-track court and the victim will get justice. He also directed to expedite the investigation, the Chief Minister’s office informed.
After the woman raped in the Sakinaka area of Mumbai succumbed to her injuries on Saturday the National Commission for Women (NCW) said it has taken suo moto cognisance and will start a probe into the crime.

The brutality of the crime has shocked the nation, serving as a harsh reminder of Delhi's 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape case.
The NCW chairperson, Rekha Sharma said that Police has failed to arrest the accused. She further urged Mumbai Police to ‘immediately arrrest all the culprits and extend all the assistance to family’
Sharma has assured the commission will also extend help to the victim's family.
