In a fresh sign that the danger of the third Covid-19 wave may be waning, restrictions were eased in Mumbai.
Revised guidelines reportedly issued by the municipal commissioner ordered the lifting of night curfew which was in place from 11 pm to 5 am.

Restaurants and theatres in the financial capital can operate with up to 50% occupancy according to pre-pandemic timings. Beaches, gardens, and parks can also open as per pre-Covid timings. Swimming pools, water parks, amusement and theme parks can operate with 50% occupancy.
At marriage ceremonies, guests are allowed up to 25% of capacity of open venue, or 200 in number, whichever is lower. For competitive sports events, 25% audience presence has been allowed. Local tourist spots and weekly markets have been allowed to open as per normal timings.
On February 1, 803 new Covid infections were reported in Mumbai. Seven deaths were also recorded in 24 hours. The active caseload of Maharashtra's capital city stood at 8,888.
While easing curbs, the authorities stressed on the need to follow Covid-appropriate behaviour.
