The Indian cricket board, BCCI threw in a major surprise when they named Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the team mentor during the T-20 World Cup UAE and Oman beginning October 17.
Virat Kolhi will lead the men in blue and Rohit Sharma will be his deputy in the tournament.
Ravichandran Ashwin has been included as part of the 15-member squad.
The squad to also include KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.
Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar will be the stand-by players.
Team India will play its first match against Pakistan on 24th October
The T20 World Cup will take place in UAE and Oman in a total of 4 venues including Muscat, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
