Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday claimed that she has been put under house arrest.
In a tweet, Mufti said that the administration has told her that situation is far from normal in Kashmir. She added that her house arrest has exposed administration's "false claims" of normalcy.
The administration has not yet given any official response on Mufti's house arrest.
The development came even as J&K Police said that the situation was "normal" in the union territory and curbs imposed after the death of separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani have been lifted. Apart from snapping of internet services, on the first Friday after Geelani's death, all major mosques and shrines were shut to prevent protests or in absentia holding of funeral prayers.
Restrictions, including those on internet services have been eased and the situation is "fully normal in both regions of Jammu and Kashmir", police tweeted on Tuesday.
The police also highlighted "special restraint" on the part of security forces and "very responsible conduct of local people" in maintaning calm.
