Clean energy is paying off in a big way, Tesla's battery partner Robin Zeng Yuqun is now Asia's fifth richest person worth $49.5 billion and also the 25th richest in the world according to Forbes. Zeng's wealth has now surpassed Jack Ma.
Zeng Yuqun is the founder of the world’s biggest electric-vehicle battery maker CATL that commands a 30% share in the market. As per data on Bloomberg global electric-vehicle battery sales more than doubled in the first five months of this year.
A close business associate to Musk, Zeng also has BMW AG and Volkswagen AG among its customers. In the last 3 years the stock of CATL has gone up 20 times as the bet of clean energy in China rises.
