Lovlina dominated the entire bout but won on a split decision 4-1 to assure India their 2nd medal at the Tokyo Olympics. This will be India's 3rd ever medal in Boxing in Olympic history as Lovlina joins an elite list that includes Vijender Singh and MC Mary Kom.

But the 23-year-old has an opportunity to go past Vijender and Mary as Indian has only won 2 bronze medals at the Olympics when she faces Turkey's Busenaz Surmeneli who is a former World Champion.
