Manika Batra, TTFI:

The Delhi High Court on Thursday ordered a temporary stay on the Table Tennis Federation of India's rules that made it compulsory for a player to attend a national camp in order to be eligible for selection for international events.

The move came following star Indian player Manika Batra's petition after she was not selected in India's Table Tennis squad for the the Asian Championships in Doha. Manika was left out as she opted to skip the national cam in order to train with her personal coach. She moved the Delhi High Court, which noted that Manika was the highest-ranking player in the country and suggested that there should be some balance in taking such decisions.
