24 people died as heavy rains over the last week caused flooding in major parts of Madhya Pradesh.
Around 1,250 villages are still reeling in the aftermath of floods triggered by torrential rains in the districts of Gwalior, Shivpuri, Guna, Sheopur, Datia, Ashoknagar, Bhind and Morena.

The state has incurred massive loss of property due to the floods. Over 25,000 houses and buildings damaged in the floods and 6 bridges were washed away.
The government dispatched helicopters and boats to rescue 145 people trapped in their homes after the Parvati river overflowed its banks in Guna district’s Sunda village.
Nearly 9000 people stranded due to the floods all across the state have been rescued by the NDRF, SDRF, Army and the air force.
