Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced on Sunday that local train travel will be open from August 15 to fully vaccinated people 14 days after their second jab.
Fully vaccinated people can register on app to get train passes. Once details of the vaccination are provided, a pass will be issued to permit travel on the local trains.

The chief minister also said that as the number of passes issued increases, it will indicate that more people are getting vaccinated and then the government will start opening up everything.
The Chief Minister however warned that if cases go up the government will have to resort to lockdown again. He appealed to people to not invite another wave of Covid-19 as he announced relaxation of norms.
