Starbucks is hitting the headlines because of its recent ad campaign, 'It Starts With Your Name'. The campaign aims to promote trans inclusivity. However, the advertisement has not received appreciation on social media and is being brutally trolled.

The advertisement shows a trans woman meeting her parents after a long time. Initially, the father-daughter are seen having discomfort but later the father shows his acceptance towards the daughter's decision of going through the transition as he places the order in his daughter, Arpita's name.

As soon as the ad went viral, social media users highlighted the fact that recently Starbucks had fired a trans woman for fighting back when she was being incessantly harassed and misgendered by a customer. Hence, people are calling this campaign performative.

But there are some who have applauded it, saying the brand is showing solidarity with transgender Indians.
