Rice is consumed in almost every part of the country and is not considered unhealthy at all. But recent research says that consuming a large amount of refined grain like white rice can lead to health problems and heart risks.

According to the American College of Cardiology and the Heart Association, consuming whole grains instead is healthier and reduces the risk of heart disease as compared to refined rice.

Effects of eating refined rice

Refining whole grains gives them a better texture and can be stored for a longer period of time but in doing so they lose their nutrients. Eating refined rice increases blood sugar level, due to which the blood vessels and nerves that control the heart might get damaged. Therefore, to stay healthy, switch to whole grains instead of refined rice for your diet.
