From noise canceling ear pods to fancy head phones, urban youngsters possess them all. Whether at home or while traveling they always have them plugged in, without knowing the adverse effects that these gadgets might cause to their ears.

According to World Health Organization (WHO) over 430 million people across the globe are currently facing hearing loss. And a recent study says that over one billion people across the world might be at a risk of hearing loss due to loud music played at events or from personal music gadgets. The result of the study was published in the journal BMJ Global Health where the team found out that around 24% of 12 to 34 year olds listen to loud music.

Their analysis of previous studies have also found out that 23% of adults and 27% of minors are regularly exposed to excessive noise. Hence, they have urged implementation of policy on safe listening habits worldwide to promote hearing loss prevention.
