We are living in an era where a life without screens is unimaginable. From phones to laptops to tablets, we constantly spend hours looking at screens which emit harmful blue light rays. We surely know that these rays are harmful for our eyes. But according to experts, besides our eyes, these rays might have adverse effects on our skin too.

Effects of blue light rays on skin:

Excessive blue light exposure may cause premature ageing of skin and may also cause hyperpigmentation, melasma and age spots. According to dermatologists, discolouration of skin and loss of skin elasticity are also some of the effects of this light on our skin.

Ways to protect our skin from these rays:

  • Tinted sunscreens that’s used for protecting skin from UV rays can also be used for protection from blue light rays.
  • Cover your devices with anti-blue light screen guards that you can easily buy online.
  • Go to your device’s settings and change it to night mode permanently or to ‘eye comfort shield’ available in some devices. This comparatively reduces the effects of blue light rays.
