Addiction to things could be bad. When it comes to cleaning addiction, it could lead to OCD; when it comes to smoking/drinking, it could lead to several health problems but what if we tell you that too much news consumption is also a harmful addiction? Why? You ask!

According to the latest study published in the journal Health communication, people with an excessive desire to continuously check the news are more likely to suffer from stress, worry and physical illness.

The study suggests that for several people, reading negative news can make them feel temporarily powerless and distressed. For others, going through a 24-hour news cycle of continually evolving events can have serious impacts on mental and physical well-being.
