Announcing a week-long lockdown in Delhi to control the spread of Covid-19, chief minister Arvind Kejriwal urged the migrant workers to not leave the city as this is a small lockdown. He asked them to stay in Delhi, adding that he is hopeful that there will be no need to extend this lockdown.
Urging people to follow lockdown norms, Kejriwal said that the government will work in these six days to step up the health infrastructure in view of growing coronavirus cases putting the healthcare under immense pressure.
The chief minister said that there was indeed a shortage of oxygen and medicines like Remdesivir.
“I always say all of Delhi is like a family. Even now we will face it together. We have won earlier, we will win again,” Kejriwal said.
