Kathua rape & murder case: Verdict shortly

A Pathankot court will today deliver verdict in the rape and murder of a minor girl in Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir last year. 8-yr-old girl from the nomad community was abducted, drugged and raped for several before being killed. The case had triggered widespread especially after some BJP leaders held rallies in support of the rape accused. The Supreme Court had shifted the trial to Pathankot over fears that free and fair trial may not be possible in Jammu. 5 people, including a juvenile and 2 SPOs, are accused in the case. 2 cops are also accused of destroying the evidence in the case
