A Peoples Democratic Party meeting in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar was thwarted by the police on Thursday, many of the leaders of the party led by incarcerated Mehbooba Mufti claimed in videos that were posted by them. A bunch of videos showed several leaders being prevented to leave their houses. This as the Union Territory administration has turned Mehbooba's residence into a sub-jail after arresting her last year in August when the Centre revoked the special status of the Himalayan state. The PDP which ran a coalition government with the BJP in the erstwhile state has not been able to hold a meeting since Article 370 abrogation. Reportedly, PDP General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Lone who had called on the meeting had informed the administration beforehand on September 1. Meanwhile, BJP and the centre backed Jammu and Kashmir Apni party's political activities have been taking place smoothly.
