Former Australian captain Steve Smith has opened up about returning to the leadership wilderness as he was appointed as the Test vice-captain for the Ashes series on Friday.

Smith, who was handed 1-year ban along with David Warner for the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in 2018 said that he is truly honoured to be back in the leadership role. /I've grown a great deal over the last three or four years. I'm a more rounded individual and in turn, I think it's turned me into a better leader,' added Smith.
