A day after Virat Kohli's fiery press conference which gave birth to a fresh controversy, Team India left for Johannesburg on Thursday.

The Indian team completed a hard quarantine in Mumbai but are most likely to be in isolation for just a day in South Africa, despite the scare of a new Coronavirus variant, Omicron. They will be tested thrice during their isolation and then enter a Bio-Secure Environment following negative results.

Virat Kohli will lead the Indian team in a 3-match Test series starting December 26 in Centurion. Rohit Sharma, who was ruled out of the Test series due to a hamstring injury is expected to return for the 3-match ODI series. It will be his first ODI series as a full-time national skipper.
