India's fatality rate is the lowest in the world, says Dr Harsh Vardhan

While over 2 lakh Indians lost their lives to Covid-19, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan on Thursday claimed that the country's coronavirus fatality rate is the lowest in the world.

The National Mortality rate has been falling and currently stands at 1.11%, he said.

Vardhan also pointed out that although there is a sudden rise in fresh cases, the figure for recoveries is also increasing at the same speed.  

Meanwhile, India registered a record of 3,79,257 fresh cases and 3,645 deaths on Thursday.
