India reported 42,766 new Covid-19 cases and 1,206 deaths in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry data showed on Saturday morning
The country's active caseload now stands at 4,55,033, constituting 1.48 per cent of the cumulative Covid-19 cases in India.
In the last 24 hours, 45,254 patients also recovered from Covid-19. The recovery rate has risen to 97.2 per cent.
Kerala, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha accounted for 73.52 per cent of the new cases. More than 30 per cent of the cases are from Kerala alone.
Maximum Covid casualties in the 24 hours period were reported in Maharashtra followed by Kerala.
