After two days of slight decline, active Covid-19 cases again increased on Thursday, as the number of daily infections surpassed the number of daily recoveries. India recorded 3.62 lakh fresh Covid-19 cases and 4,120 deaths in 24 hours, according to the data released by the health ministry on Thursday morning.
This is the second straight day when the country has recorded over 4,000 Covid fatalities. Total number of deaths due to Covid has now cross 2.58 lakh.
The tally of active cases stays over 37 lakh. The country is fighting its worst battle against the pandemic with an alarming rise in the number of cases, deaths worsened by a crumbling health infrastructure.
