In Sheikhpura, Bihar, on August 21 (PTI) – The Voter Adhikar Yatra resumed on Thursday after a brief pause, with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav announcing that Rahul Gandhi will return from Delhi by the afternoon.

Yadav was accompanied by CPI(ML) Liberation General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Kumar, and Vikassheel Insan Party Chief Mukesh Sahni, as the yatra commenced again in Sheikhpura district.

"We extend our gratitude to big brother Rahul Gandhi for dedicating so much of his time to this yatra. He has urgent commitments related to the vice president's election but will join us later today," Yadav stated.

Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, initially launched the yatra in Sasaram on Sunday, attended by prominent figures such as AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad.

Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar assembly and the INDIA bloc's assumed chief ministerial candidate, accused authorities of "stealing" people's votes under the guise of a special intensive revision of electoral rolls. The public was encouraged to chant slogans like "Vote chor, gaddi chhod".

He also criticized the Nitish Kumar-led state government for "lacking vision" and "merely replicating ideas initially proposed by Tejashwi," including policies on domicile, waiving of fees for competitive exam forms, and establishing a Youth Commission.
