Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address to the nation, calling it a powerful symbol of India's steadfast resolve to combat terrorism.

He said that the Prime Minister's speech instilled pride and confidence in every Indian.

Highlighting the significance of 'Operation Sindoor', Dhami noted that India had sent a strong message that terrorism would not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Dhami further emphasized that the Prime Minister's firm rejection of Pakistan's nuclear threats and his reiteration of India's zero-tolerance stance on terrorism reflect the global position of the "new India." He added that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India has taken decisive steps to fight terrorism, with operations like 'Operation Sindoor' demonstrating the country's capability to respond effectively to any form of aggression.

The Chief Minister remarked that the entire nation stands united against terrorism, and the people of Uttarakhand remain steadfast in their commitment to defending and contributing to the prosperity of India.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi, during his address, praised the courage and determination of the Indian Armed Forces in carrying out the objectives of Operation Sindoor.

He said, "Every terror organisation now knows 'ki hamari behano, betiyon ke maathe se Sindoor hatane ka anjaam kya hota hai'." Modi lauded the armed forces, military, intelligence agencies, and scientists for their efforts, dedicating the bravery of the forces to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of the country.

The Prime Minister also condemned the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, describing the terrorists' actions as barbaric. He said, "The barbarism that terrorists have shown has shaken the country and the world." Modi reflected on the tragic loss of 26 lives in the attack, where innocent victims were killed in front of their families simply for their religion.

In response, India launched Operation Sindoor, carrying out precision strikes on terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK), killing over 100 terrorists.

The subsequent aggression by Pakistan was met with a strong rebuttal by the Indian Armed Forces, which also targeted Pakistan's airbases. Following the attack, the Prime Minister vowed that the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack would face punishment beyond their imagination. India also took significant measures to hold Pakistan accountable for its role in supporting cross-border terrorism, including putting the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance.
