A man from Uttar Pradesh's Gorakhpur has been arrested for killing his father and chopping his body into pieces allegedly over a monetary dispute, according to an India Today report.

Police said Prince Gupta slit his father Madhur Gupta's throat with a sharp weapon, beheaded him and cut the body parts to fit them into a suitcase after he refused to lend him money.

The incident from the intervening night of March 11 and 12 was reported by the accused 's brother Prashant Gupta, the report added.

Police said the accused Prince also confessed to having committed the crime.  "Had my father given me money, I would not have killed him," Prince said in his confession as per the India Today report.
