Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) MLC K Kavitha in an address to reporters in Delhi on March 9, 2023 said that the Indian National Congress is no longer a national party and urged the the party to stop being arrogant in the interest of the country.

Responding to Congress' remarks that the BRS is a 'B' team of the ruling BJP, Kavitha said, 'Congress needs to realise that it is no longer a national party and stop being delusional. In the interest of the country and the citizens, the party must decide its role.'

The Telangana Chief Minister's daughter continued stating that if the grand old party is really determined to beat the BJP in the 2024 general elections, 'they should leave their arrogance.'

Kavitha opined, 'The Congress needs to come together with other regional parties, become a team player to make sure BJP loses the next election, then they will know, who is the 'A' team and 'B' team.'

Defending her party, Kavitha said, 'If we were really BJP's 'B' team, we would not have been summoned by the ED, we would have been at ease instead.'

Kavitha is in Delhi to partake in a protest that is demanding that the government implement the Women's Reservation Bill. While in the capital, the MLC will also appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.
