Report: Nitish Kumar ends alliance with BJP in Bihar

Multiple reports on Tuesday said that chief minister Nitish Kumar has ended his alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party. 

The development comes after Nitish Kumar met the elected members of the JDU from the Parliament and the Bihar Assembly. 

An India Today report quoting sources in the JDU said that Nitish Kumar's party unanimously decided to break alliance with the BJP. 

NDTV reported tha "the tension between the two parties hit breakpoint over Nitish Kumar's concerns that Union Minister Amit Shah is working relentlessly to split the Janata Dal United."
