Uniform Civil Code Bill tabled in Uttarakhand Assembly amid 'Jai Shri Ram' chants

The bill on the Uniform Civil Code was tabled in the Uttarakhand Assembly on February 6.

As Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami introduced the Bill, 'Vande Mataram' and 'Jai Shri Ram' slogans were raised by MLAs inside the Assembly. The proceedings of the House was later adjourned till 2 pm.

The Bill aims to provide a common framework for marriage, divorce, and inheritance laws for citizens across all faiths in the state.
