Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on 26 February 2023 accused Opposition parties of having ties with fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim.

Shinde was referring to the decision of Opposition parties to boycott the customary tea party on the eve of the state Assembly's Budget Session. Shinde reportedly said, "In a way, it was good that the opposition did not turn for the high tea when some of them have ties with terrorist Dawood Ibrahim."

As per reports, Shinde took a dig at NCP leader Nawab Malik by saying that some Opposition leaders have had ties with Dawood's sister Haseena Parkar.
