Lok Sabha ends 6 days before schedule: Speaker says 97% productivity, amid Opposition protests

The Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die on 23 December 2022, six days ahead of the scheduled culmination of the Parliament's Winter Session.

The decision to curtail the session was taken by the Business Advisory Committee which is headed by the Lok Sabha Speaker, and has MPs of various parties as members.

Before adjourning the House, Speaker Om Birla said that the productivity of the Lower House was 97%. The session saw major disruption by the Opposition, mainly over the India-China border clash in Tawang.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Congress leader Sonia Gandhi were present in the House.
