Senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram faced protests from members of his own party on May 4.

Chidambaram was at the Calcutta High Court in his capacity as a lawyer, when members of Congress party's lawyers' cell heckled him.

Chidambaram is reportedly fighting a case against his party colleague Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury by representing the TMC government in West Bengal. Chowdhury has alleged large-scale corruption in the Metro Dairy case.

Protesting Congress workers blamed "leaders like Chidambaram" for the party's weak performance in the state. They asked Chidambaram to quit the Congress and join Mamata Banerjee's TMC.
