Amid a bandh in Karnataka's Bengaluru over the Cauvery water dispute, Tamil Nadu farmers held a 'Rail Roko' protest in Thanjavur.

The protest in Bengaluru has been called by various pro-Kannada organisations against the release of Cauvery water to neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

The opposition BJP and JD(S) are also supporting the bandh.

Several activists of Kannada organisations were also whisked away by the police at Town Hall, as they gathered there to stage a protest.
