PM Modi, President Murmu, Opposition leaders pay tributes to BR Ambedkar on death annivesary

A day ahead of winter session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary and remembered him "for his exemplary service to the nation."

He along with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar paid floral tributes to Ambedkar at Parliament complex in New Delhi.

Congress MPs including UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and party chief Mallikarjun Kharge also offered their respects to Dr Ambedkar at the Parliament complex.

Dr Ambedkar died on December 6, 1956, and the day is observed as Mahaparinirvan Diwas to honour the father of Indian Constitution.
