Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal has reacted to the comments by Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury that the words 'socialist' and 'secular' were dropped from the Preamble of the copies of the Constitution given to MPs on the first day of the new Parliament.

Meghwal said that the original Constitution did not have the words 'socialist' and 'secular'. He added that they were added later via an amendment. The minister said that the government handed out copies of the original Constitution.
